DICT, NTC release final New Major Player (NMP) selection timeline
Philippine government agencies — Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) have released the new timeline for the selection of the New Major Player (NMP) or the third telco player in the Philippines.
The new timeline was released at the Information Campaign on the Implementation of the NTC Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 09-09-2018 on Tuesday, 2 October. NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba presented the final timeline with November 7 as the final date for the interested participants to submit accomplished bidding documents.
Acting Secretary Eliseo M. Rio Jr. said that this timeline is the outcome from the desire of President Rodrigo Duterte to name the third telco this year.
According to the new schedule, the NTC will also give an ample time for the potential bidders to raise clarification on the bidding documents.
October 6, 2018 (Saturday) – Effectivity of the MC
October 7, 2018 (Sunday) – Invitation to Bid
October 8, 2018 (Monday) – Issuance of selection documents
October 15, 2018 (Monday) – Pre-selection Information session and Form A Training
October 22, 2018 (Monday) – Last day of submission of clarificatory question
November 2, 2018 (Friday) – Last day of response to clarificatory question
November 7, 2018 (Wednesday) – Submission and opening bids
After the official invitation to bid to be published on October 7, participants can purchase the 1-million pesos worth of bidding documents at the NTC Central Office.
